Letter in the Bristol Phoenix
I am writing this letter on Monday, Nov. 5, obviously without knowing the outcome of tomorrow’s election, because for what I’d like to say today, the result is irrelevant.
It has been a great privilege to knock on thousands of doors and get to know the people of Bristol. When I look back on this campaign experience, what I will always remember is how very grateful and honored I was that so many people took time out of their busy lives to talk to me about how we can improve Bristol.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the overwhelming support I have received from my family, friends, and loyal supporters who generously contributed their time and effort to my campaign. Whether it was helping at the polls, displaying my signs on their lawn, supporting my events, or simply offering kind words, I was consistently humbled by the outpouring of encouragement I received.
I would like to offer a special thank you to my children, Michael and Kyrik, who have always been my biggest supporters. Know that I am proud of each of you and that being your mom has been the greatest adventure of my life.
I’d also like to take a moment to recognize all the candidates who ran for office to serve our town and seek solutions for public challenges. It is not easy to put oneself out there in such a public forum, so I give credit to those with the initiative to do so.
I hope to have the opportunity to serve the community in the coming years.
